HISTORY

Højholm-Design was founded in 1957

by Per Henning Højholm, who at that

time was studying medicine.

The first figure he made was a small chubby

angel meant as a Christmas present for

family and friends.

Decorating this figure Per Højholm was

inspired by his fascination of old frescos.
The angel and other figures became a

success and Per Højholm therefore decided

to put his studies on hold and devote himself

to art design. He moved to Bogense, in the

northern part of Funen, with his wife and

their four children to fulfil his dreams.

Per Højholm died in 1974 and since his

death the firm has had various owners.

Today the firm has been taken over by the

youngest of the four children

Ellen Kirstine Højholm.
